Supervisors on the Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority Board today moved forward plans they hope will improve both customer service and communication in Lakewood Ranch.

The board approved plans to hire four part-time employees, including an operations staff member who would be responsible for park maintenance and other maintenance-related issues Friday through Sunday.

"It's an effort to make sure during off hours, we have coverage, particularly of our parks," IDA Chairman Tom Green said of the operations position.

Board members also agreed to contract with Association Voice for web hosting services. Town Hall Executive Director Eva Rey plans to host several community workshops on the website, as it is developed, in the coming months. A target launch date of Jan. 12 has been set for the new website.
