As the Baltimore Orioles wrapped up their inaugural spring-training season in the renovated Ed Smith Stadium, the team announced two attendance records that were set.
The 115,506 fans attending the Orioles games were the most in franchise history and the most ever in Ed Smith Stadium.
The previous Ed Smith Stadium record was in 1994, when 115,382 fans attended the Chicago White Sox home games. That year was memorable because basketball star Michael Jordan was trying out with the team.
Of its 16 home games this spring, 10 sold out.
