A 2-year-old child has been transported to All Children's Hospital after nearly drowning in the family's pool today.

A Manatee County Sheriff's Office report states a man was preparing a snack for his 2-year-old child when the child left the family's living room, opened the glass sliding doors and made his way to the pool. His father had closed the doors before checking on food in the oven and going to the restroom.

When the father returned, he noticed the doors were open and saw his child face up in the pool. He contacted 911 and the child was responsive upon the arrival of Emergency Medical Services, the report states.

The child was transported to All-Children's Hospital for further care.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. today in the 7100 block of 46th Ave. Circle E., Bradenton, in the Creekwood neighborhood.
