Soldier's funeral rescheduled

The funeral service for Spc. 4 Patrick Lay has been rescheduled for Sunday.

A visitation now is planned for 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Life Covenant Church, 5428 39th St. E., Bradenton. Lay's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the church.

Lay, a graduate of Braden River High School, was killed Aug. 11 while serving his country in Afghanistan.

Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies will escort Lay's body to the church on Saturday.The escort will begin at about 1 p.m. at Rectrix Aviation located at 8250 15th St. E. The escort will begin north on 15th Street East to Tallevast Road, west to U.S. 41, north on U.S. 41 to State Road 70 and then east to 39th Street East. The escort will continue south on 39th Street East to the Life Covenant Church at 5428 39th St. E.
