Marlene Campanaro thought the Thelma-and-Louise-style road trips with her best friend, Sally Keyes, were exciting. She thought that recording the CD, “Diamonds in the Rough,” together was exhilarating. But she got more than she bargained for Oct. 1, when she celebrated her 70th birthday. Keyes and her husband, Paul, surprised Campanaro by flying in their children, who refer to Campanaro as “Aunt Marlene,” to celebrate with Campanaro’s family members.
