Store Around the Corner: Tasti D-Lite

You can’t have your cake and eat it too, but at Tasti D-Lite in St. Armands Circle, you can have a delicious frozen dessert for just 70 calories per serving.

“Our product is great for people who want to have their treat, but without all the fat and the calories,” says owner Scott Pastor. “At Tasti D-Lite, they can have it all.”

The St. Armands Circle Tasti D-Lite re-opened on April 16th after being closed for five months due to fire damage.

Tasti D-Lite serves up over 100 different flavors of frozen dessert, from peanut butter banana to strawberry cheesecake. It tastes exactly like soft-serve ice cream, but because it doesn’t contain more than 3% butter fat or any live cultures, it technically cannot be called ice cream or frozen yogurt.

The store also serves smoothies and parfaits, all made from an all-natural base with no artificial sweeteners or coloring.

Pastor, who owns another Tasti D-Lite store at Southgate Mall in Sarasota, opened the first two Tasti D-Lite franchises in the state of Florida in the spring of 2009.

“I saw that there was a demographic here that was very health conscious,” says Pastor. “We serve a deliciously healthy, good for you treat.”
