Horseshoe Cove RV Resort held its fifth Relay for Life Walk March 12. Through fundraisers before the event - including golf cart washes, hot dog sales, a silent auction, a casino night and more - and donations, the 20-member Horseshoe Cove committee helped raise more than $33,000 to support the American Cancer Society.

Save Our Seabirds and The Old Salty Dog restaurant collaborated for a fundraising fish fry Saturday, Oct. 20. Funds from the event will benefit the Wild Bird Learning Center and the ongoing maintenance needs of the center. St. Martha's Catholic Church celebrated their 85 year establishment as a parish on Saturday Oct. 20 at the church. Over 200 members attended Celebrate St. Martha's, Oktoberfest themed party. Parish members served brats, sauerkraut, potato salad and Oktoberfest beer while others listened and danced to the Jimmy Jay band.

After the meal, volunteer Graham Algood was honored for his years of service to the non-profit. Up until recently, Algood has been a volunteer at Resurrection House since the year it opened in 1989.
