Hundreds of youth soccer players put their skills to the test during the Braden River Soccer Club's Ninth annual Halloween Havoc Oct. 15-16. Eighty-four boys and girls teams ranging in age from U9 through U14 participated in the tournament with Braden River's U11 boys Black, U11 boys Orange, U12 boys, and U12 girls teams all winning tournament championships.

The All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church Women got together for its monthly meeting. Guest speaker and nutritionist Rebecca Kloss taught the women in attendance about how to read a food label. She calls her speech 'How the Heck Can I Tell if This is Good for Me?' She suggests cutting out processed foods and go back to eating fresh. Hopefully, the luncheon following the lecture was according to her nutritional guides.

PHOTO GALLERY: 2011 AYCO Showcase Performance

Participants in the 2011 American Youth Circus Festival showed off their talents Thursday, Aug. 18 during one of the two showcase performances of the week at PAL Sailor Circus Arena. There are 300 participants from all over the country and range in age from 9 to 87. This year's 5-day AYCO Festival also includes 90 different workshops that cover a wide variety of circus talents.

The 38th Annual Plant and Flower Show took place at Selby Garden Saturday and Sunday Feb, 23 and 24 to show off beautiful plants and give the community an opportunity to purchase some. About 3,000 people attended the show with about 40 vendors and 100 volunteers. 'Its an opportunity for members and guests to buy plants and have them all in one spot,' said volunteer coordinator Phyllis Kirtley.
