Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kevin Cooper said, 'the social aspect of business is just as important as the working aspect.' Approximately 45 people attended the event where refreshments and appetizers were served. Business owners also celebrated birthday of events and office manager Chastanna Niemann with a cake from Costco.

St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church Women's Guild held their annual fashion show An Affair to Remember Thursday, March 14 at Michael's On East to raise money for local charities. Three hundred women attended the event and watched women model clothing from A-Tu. Women bought raffle tickets for a chance to win cash and one of 31 door prizes. 'We always come to this, we just love it. Its just so elegant and fun,' said Marlene Csillag.

Residents at the Gulf and Bay Club held a luau Friday, March 8 by the pool to get residents together. Captain Curt's catered dinner which included a roasted pig. Lily pad candles floated in the pool as the sunset over the white sand beach on Siesta Key. Fire dancers performed for the residents and Marc Anthony played the music. 'We are looking for everyone to have a community affair and come together,' said event organizer Vern Johnson. Close to 250 people attended the luau.
