Sarasota County will temporarily repair the cracked road near Beach Access 3 and determine if it can free up funding for a permanent solution to the erosion problem.

In 1921, a father and son found a man lying on Beach Road, bleeding profusely. A gold ring with the inscription 'H.H.' verified it was the body of Harry Lee Higel.
