Children at Southside Elementary School are raising money through the month of February for Jump Rope for Heart for the American Heart Association. Each day in gym class, gym teacher Rich Kreiling, has the children do various cardio activates including shooting hoops, hula hooping, and jumping roping. Children get donations for doing 21 minutes of cardio work in gym class but the younger children do a little less. 'The benefit is that children are learning the value of exercise and this focuses on max participation,' said Kreiling. Last year the school raised $6,000 and 10% went towards new gym equipment for the children.

'Everything you do here at the Sarasota Garden Club is for Sarasota and you continue to give to the community.' Ladies modeled clothing from Dilliard's after lunch.
