PHOTO GALLERY: Welcome Back Luncheon

St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church's women's guild hosted a welcome back luncheon and first meeting following 11 a.m. mass on Tuesday, Oct. 18. And it was a packed house. The women had three types of homemade quiche and salad, and luckily made enough to feed an army.

PHOTO GALLERY: Party on the Pass

The Sarasota Chapter of Interior Design Society hosted its first 'Party on the Pass' benefiting Trinity Charities at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron on Saturday, Oct. 15. Trinity Charities, Inc. is an HIV/AIDS service organization that provides services to individuals in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The bayside event included barbeque, drinks, live music from Stone Fish and a silent auction.

Appellate Attorney Rebecca O'Dell Townsend spoke to the Republican Club of Longboat Key about constitutional crisis when they met Friday, Oct. 14 at the Sarasota Yacht Club. The St. Petersburg resident explained the very basics of the government such as explaining inalienable rights, where they come from and why we have a republic form of government and more.
