Jesse and Ann Soltis met in church 50 years ago. For their 50th anniversary, their four sons and eight grandchildren threw a party for them. On Saturday, Aug. 11 the family and a few close friends from as far as Texas filled the Villa Di Lancia clubhouse to celebrate. Rev. Pick from St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church renewed the couple's vows.
The Soltis' anniversary is Aug. 18 and they were married in 1962. The couple met at St. Helen Parish in Chicago. Jesse waited outside of the church after confession for Ann. He introduced himself, they got a milkshake and the rest is history.
