Selby event has guests "pine-ing" for holiday decorations

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens' Great Room by the Bay was transformed into a holiday wonderland for the Marie Selby Gardens Associates' Wine, Dine and Pine event, held Tuesday, Nov. 30. Guests enjoyed wine and hors d'oeuvres as they bid on a selection of 30 trees, wreaths and centerpieces, creatively decorated by local artists and designers. The event was chaired by Karen LaBonte and Jane Paulishak.

World's best flock to Ranch for annual Cricket Festival

More than a dozen teams from across the world gathered at the Sarasota International Cricket Club in Lakewood Ranch for the 17th International 6-a-side Cricket Festival Nov. 25-28. The teams were divided into three groups with two of three groups playing for the coveted Festival Shield. The winners of this year's tournament were Memorial Cricket Club and the Evergreens. Throughout the tournament, players and their families also enjoyed cocktails, luau and gala dinners, a finals day luncheon and souvenirs, among other festivities.
