Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences held its first annual anime and gaming convention, called Toracon, Saturday, May 12. Students joined vendors and visitors from the community, as they dressed in costumes, played games, attended demonstrations and shared their interest in anime. Organizer Liz Smith said the idea for Toracon came from SSAS student's desire to hold their own convention, much like the larger ones held across the state.
