BRE hosts Denim & Diamonds fundraiser

Braden River Elementary School staff and PTO members enjoyed the school's The Denim & Diamonds Fall Ball Party and Fundraiser Nov. 6 at the Sarasota Polo Club. The event featured tapas, beverages, music and a live auction. All proceeds will benefit BRE students in the Accelerated Reading and Renzulli programs.

Teddy Bear Run rumbles through East County

Bikers from throughout the state motored through the East County for the 13th annual Great Teddy Bear Run Nov. 14. The ride began at The Shoppes at University Center and continued to the Sarasota County Fairgrounds. The event benefited Kids by the Sea, a local non-profit that serves children with cancer.

Harry Potter casts spell on East County

Donning Hogwarts garb, children and their families headed to Little Bookworms on Lakewood Ranch Main Street Nov. 19 for the Harry Potter Extravaganza event. Attendees enjoyed making their own wands and potions, as well as sampling Hogwart's famous butter beer, among other festivities.
