Thunder hoops host Blazers

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls basketball teams hosted Sarasota Christian in regular season action Jan. 24. The Thunder defeated the Blazers 41-32. Brian and Ragone and Jack Cannon led the way for ODA with 13 points each. The Lady Thunder fell to Sarasota Christian 43-40. Mara Falahee scored 26 points, 16 of which came in the fourth quarter, to lead the way for ODA.

Manatee and Sarasota County's top senior football players went head-to-head in the 19th Annual Brad Price Memorial PAL Bowl Jan. 14 at Lakewood Ranch. The Manatee All-Stars came from behind to defeat Sarasota 10-9. The Out-of-Door Academy's Brett Timmons and Lakewood's Shawn Trent served as the head coaches for their respective counties.
