When we began this process of analyzing the 11 proposed state constitution amendments two weeks ago, we noted a preference that is probably true with most voters: Leave the constitution alone! Quit junking it up with special exceptions and favors to special groups.

The Manatee County School Board's meeting chambers were exceptionally crowded Monday night, and as I squeezed into the back to stand, I first noticed Superintendent Tim McGonegal was missing from his normal seat.
