Teachers each chose two of their students to read a "Pete the Cat" book while the other students performed a skit for the audience.

A 7-week-old bobcat found in Lakewood Ranch has been transported to the Wildlife Center of Venice for rehabilitation. East County-based wildlife rehabilitator Justin Matthews received a call Sunday night from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, after Deputy April Allison found the young bobcat near the corner of State Road 70 and Lorraine Road. The Wildlife Center of Venice took the bobcat Tuesday for rehabilitation with three other cubs.
