Braden River and Lakewood Ranch Little Leaguers took to the fields for the annual District 26 All-Star Tournament June 27 through July 13 at Buffalo Creek Park. Lakewood Ranch Little League won district titles in the 10-11 and 11-12-year-old divisions. Lakewood Ranch (6-3) defeated Braden River 10-0 in the best of three finals to capture the district crown after defeating Braden River 5-4 in the opening game and falling to its rival 9-6 in the second game. In the Majors division, Lakewood Ranch (6-1) defeated Buffalo Creek 6-0 in double elimination before defeating Buffalo Creek 10-2 in the championship game. Dylan Buck allowed two hits in 4 1/3 innings and reached base safely in three of four plate appearances, including a grand slam home run in the fifth inning to help lead the way for Lakewood Ranch. Parker Shanahan and Ollie Kightlinger also notched RBIs in the championship game. 'We just started jumping up and down,' center fielder Adam Strawderman said. 'We were so excited to go to sectionals. We didn't do so good last year, so we're hoping to do better this year.' Both Lakewood Ranch Little League teams will advance to the Section IV Tournament this weekend in Land O'Lakes.
