The School District of Manatee County School Board has officially named its eighth high school, which is under construction in Lakewood Ranch, Rangeland High School.

With a budget of $144,000,000, it is being built on 85 acres on the corner of Rangeland Parkway and Post Boulevard. The decision of the name was finalized during the school board meeting April 28.

The school has been referred to as AAA High School up until this point. It will open in August 2027 for freshmen and sophomores. In the next two years a grade will be added.

The principal will be announced over the summer. Further decisions including the leadership team, mascot and colors will be made at a later date.
