Asolo Repertory Theatre recently hired Juliana Han Witt as its new director of development. In this role, Han Witt will shape and lead the strategic direction of Asolo Rep’s fundraising and philanthropic partnerships.
Han Witt brings more than 20 years of experience across the nonprofit arts and culture sector, spanning performing arts, museums and arts education. She has held leadership roles at such cultural institutions as The Metropolitan Opera, The Philadelphia Orchestra, National Dance Institute and The Studio Museum in Harlem.

Throughout her career, Han Witt has successfully led teams in securing transformational gifts, forging major institutional partnerships and expanding community engagement.
Most recently as chief advancement officer at Atlanta Ballet, she rebuilt the fundraising program, launched multi-year fundraising initiatives and led annual multi-million-dollar campaigns.
"Asolo Rep is entering a dynamic period of growth, with bold artistic programming, investment in new work and expanding our robust commitment to access and education," said Peter Rothstein, producing artistic director, in a statement. "Juliana's experience at some of our nation's leading cultural organizations, coupled with her passion for inclusive philanthropy and strategic partnership, makes her an exception addition to our leadership team."
A classically trained musician, Han Witt holds a bachelor of arts in music from Smith College and is an alumna of the American Express Leadership Academy, where she served as a mentor and facilitator for emerging nonprofit leaders nationwide.
"I look forward to partnering with the talented team, our board and our generous supporters to grow the culture of philanthropy that sustains and amplifies this extraordinary theater's impact in Sarasota and beyond," said Han Witt in a statement.
