A truck driver from Florida’s east coast was killed Monday morning in an Interstate 75 crash from which one of the three involved vehicles fled, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The 34-year-old from New Smyrna Beach was not immediately identified.

A report from the 6:34 a.m. crash at State Road 64 said a black Ford Mustang stopped briefly after the incident, then drove off southbound. The driver was described as a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The car might have been equipped with video-recording gear, the FHP said.
FHP said the Mustang was southbound in the left lane when it changed lanes into the center lane, hitting a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Forced from its lane by the impact, the Trailblazer crossed into the path of a tractor-trailer, which overturned and came to a stop blocking all three travel lanes. Its driver was killed. The driver of the Trailblazer, a 63-year-old Palmetto man, received minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate this crash.
