Sarasota homes light up for the holidays

There's nothing like a lighted home for the holidays, especially when a display manages to stand out above others. 

Some of the highlights in Sarasota include the home at 2834 Browning St., a spectacle with a wide variety of figures and animated characters gathered across its front yard. 

Another is the home at 3059 Jamaica St., which features a Grinch theme in a scene that mirrors the whimsy of Whoville while also incorporating characters from other stories and other decor. 

Here are a few of the lights displays the Observer found that acted as bright spots in the community this year.
