Sarasota Orchestra's Masterworks 5 Dinner was held at the Sarasota Yacht Club.
Photo by Janet CombsIn the fifth of six Masterworks Dinners held by the Sarasota Orchestra, Norwegian conductor Rune Bergmann was the special guest. The energy was palpable as guests clamored for photos with the famed conductor, who has engagements all over the world. With four upcoming performances in Sarasota between Feb. 8-11, Bergmann is headed next to Poland.
The dinner was hosted by Kay Aidlin, Molly Dooher, Henry Kahwaty, Jeff Sebeika, and the Ronald and Geri Yonover Foundation, and the Sarasota Yacht Club provided the venue as well as the food and beverage.
The evening progressed after opening remarks from Nicole Eibe, VP of advancement and strategic initiatives. Phillip Gainsley served as the moderator, and his impressive credentials include 30 years as a panelist on the Opera Quiz, which was heard during intermission of the Saturday live radio broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera.
A special performance was by multi-Grammy nominated violinist, Philippe Quint, who has soloed with some of the finest ensembles in the world.
The Sarasota Orchestra's mission is to engage, educate, and enrich the community through high-quality, live-musical experiences.
