Coming back to an office isn't so tough when there's a $2,000 check waiting for you. Three local organizations — Visible Men Academy, Second Heart Homes and Healthy Teens Coalition — each received one from the Michael Saunders & Company Foundation on July 20.

The organizations, all in Sarasota or Manatee counties, were nominated by a Longboat Key Michael Saunders & Company Realtor and sent representatives to speak to the Key office July 20.

This year, the foundation is dispersing $85,000 among 42 local organizations, bringing their total contributions since 2011 to over $1 million to 235 organizations. Michael Saunders & Company collects the funds through associate and staff contributions, as well as a 10% match from Michael and Drayton Saunders.
