Sarasota Ballet "Steeles" the show for 28th season gala

The Sarasota Ballet Gala was held Jan. 6 at the Sarasota Opera House honoring Hillary Steele.

The Sarasota Ballet celebrated its 28th season Jan. 6 with the Sarasota Ballet Gala at the Sarasota Opera House.

The evening started with a cocktail hour that was followed by a performance by company dancers. Both past performers and newcomers pirouetted onto the stage, including Marcelo Gomes, Maria Kowroski, Skylar Brandt and Bradley Moore. Soprano Susan Graham also offered a virtuoso performance. 

Dinner followed under a tent in Five Points Park, where past board chairwoman and 2019 gala honoree Hillary Steele was recognized.
