Standing out from the crowd can be tricky - but a little bit of style can go a long way. 

Having a signature look can be tricky for men — after all, there's something of a limited palette to choose from. But the right tie or bowtie can really make you stand out in a room — just ask our fearless leader, Matt Walsh. 

It's a matter of what kind of statement you want to make. If you're looking for something more classic and refined, a solid red, blue or black tie should do the trick. If you're hoping to make an impact walking into the room, consider a more colorful bow tie. It can make the difference between

"Let's face it, in menswear, by the time you put on on a tuxedo,  what're you going to do to be different?" asked Geoffrey Michel, owner of The Met.

"You don't want to stand out like a peacock but these (bowties) do that in an very understated way," Michel said.
