Guests at the 2017 Celebrity Chefs Food & Wine Tasting were in the giving spirit the second they walked under the big white tent.
The more than 700 people that attended the March 21 event at the Resort at Longboat Key Club had the unique opportunity to learn exactly where their donations to the Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast will go.
Along with an impressively large silent auction that featured everything from two weeks of Blue Apron meals to an eight-day river cruise from Paris to Normandy, the event featured a table full of items that the organization buys with donor money. A $40 donation, for example, can provide a monthly birthday cake for seniors in the JFCS senior outreach services program, and a $100 donation can provide healthy fruit and vegetable snacks to at-risk youth attending the JFCS summer enrichment program at Booker Middle School and Lincoln Middle School.
Event-goers also had the chance to strike a pose in the photo booth, get their portraits drawn and taste beer, wine and gourmet bites from over 26 of the area’s best restaurants and beverage providers, all while listening to the smooth jazzy sounds of Michael Ross Band.
