Artist Series Concerts Friends host Italian masquerade

Guests donned their best masks, parked their four-wheeled gondolas in the Michael’s On East lot and stepped into the Carnival in Venice on March 8.
The annual Artist Series Concerts gala inspired some festive Italian decor, but even more jubilant was the mood as guests enjoyed drinks, hors d’oeuvres and accordion music during cocktail hour. Event-goers also had the opportunity to bid on several silent auction items, ranging from a $50 Michael’s On East giftcard and wine set to a handcrafted carnival mask valued at $400 that was commissioned by Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota Managing Director John Fischer from Tragicomica Studios in Venice.
After dinner, guests got the chance to bid on several live auction items such as a Michael’s Wine Cellar Tasting for 20 and a 12-day Holland America Line cruise. A raffle drawing followed in which a few lucky quests won two nights at Hotel Indigo Sarasota, a $100 gift card from The Rosemary, Veuve Clicquot Champagne and Artist Series Concerts tickets.
Entertainment followed, provided by pianist Joseph Holt and singers Will and Anthony Nunziata.
Proceeds from the event benefited the Artist Series Concerts’ scholarship and community outreach programs.
