Red, white and blue were added to the color scheme this year at Goodwill Manasota’s annual Little Black Dress fashion show, themed “Salute the Runway.”
Every year before the event, a group of young girls from troops within Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida are paired with a group of models who they interview prior to the show. The models are always picked because of their ability to be excellent role models, and this year’s lineup included nine women who have served in the military.
Festivities began with a half hour of mingling and placing silent auction bids before everyone took their seats for lunch and the fashion show.
The 12 girl scouts introduced their role models — which included members of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Marine Corps — as the women showed off little black dresses from local Goodwill stores.
