Literacy Matters Luncheon features author Nelson Lauver

The 10th annual luncheon was held at Michael’s On East on Feb. 24.

Supportes of the Literacy Council of Sarasota gathered at Michael’s On East on Feb. 24 to mingle, enjoy lunch, meet author Nelson Lauver and honor two LCS supporters with awards.

President and CEO at Goodwill Industries Manasota Bob Rosinsky was honored with the 2017 James E. Duffy Friend of Literacy Award, and Kathleen McEachran was honored with the 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award.

Lauver, the author of “Most Unlikely to Succeed,” a memoir about his childhood struggles with undiagnosed dyslexia, signed books, spoke with readers and give a talk about his learning disability.
