There were no cubes in sight at the final Starry Night Dinner of the year on April 17.
Asolo Repertory Theatre’s dinner series went out with a bang — beatnik style — at the home of Elaine and Bill Crouse along the shores of southern Siesta Key.
Guests began the evening with drinks, hors d'oeuvres and mingling on the second floor patio overlooking the Gulf. Several cocktails such as the “Beatnix Collins,” the gin-based signature drink made with grapefruit juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, soda water and fresh mint, were served.
Eventgoers also enjoyed music and tours of the modern home, which features an extensive art collection (and wall of cocktail shakers that Bill Crouse started collecting some 15 years ago).
After cocktail hour, guests adjourned to the backyard patio for dinner by Innovative Dining and several performances by artists from the upcoming Asolo production of “Beatsville.”
