About 30 supporters of Moffitt Cancer Center gathered April 5 at Michael’s Wine Cellar for an intimate celebration in preparation for the Moffitt Cancer Center Luncheon.

The center’s main fundraising event will take place on Nov. 1 at Michael’s on the Bay at Selby Gardens.

Event-goers enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres before hearing from Kathy Werner, special events and marketing director for Moffitt Foundation, and luncheon Co-Chairwomen Susan Malloy Jones and Alisa Pettingell.

Both chairwomen shared their personal connections to the organization — Malloy Jones noted that she watched her mother suffer from cancer growing up and Pettingell mentioned that she herself is a patient at Moffitt Cancer Center — and guests learned that since its inception, the luncheon has raised more than $1 million.
