American Jewish Committee West Coast Florida celebrates Emily Walsh
The local AJC chapter honored Walsh with the 2016 Civic Achievement Award.

Nearly 400 supporters of AJC and Observer Media Group Publisher Emily Walsh gathered on Nov. 29 in the ballroom of Michael’s On East, which was transformed into a winter wonderland by Roger Capote, director of special projects at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.
Walsh was named the recipient of the 2016 Civic Achievement Award, which celebrates outstanding Sarasotans who are passionate about bettering the local community. Walsh was honored for her work in various positions such as chair of the Selby Board of Trustees, chair of the Local Media Association Foundation Board of Directors, member of the Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center Board of Directors and member of Leadership Florida Class XXXIV, among others.
