Town Hall Lecture audiences can anticipate insightful speakers with topics focusing on world affairs and American politics next year.

The series will kick off with former Vice President Dick Cheney and conclude with former Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Cheney is scheduled for Jan. 23, just three days following the inauguration of the next President of the United States. Before the conclusion of the 2016 RCLA Town Hall Lecture Series, audience members were given a sneak peek of what to anticipate for the following year. The announcement was by incoming Town Hall Chairman Patrick Duggan following the final lecture of the 2016 series with Gen. David Petraeus.

“Our speakers have all made major contributions in fields ranging from politics to the environment and women’s issues. We are delighted that they will share their experiences with our members,” said Patrick Duggan, chairman for the 2017 Town Hall Lecture Series in a release.

Every year RCLA asks audiences what speakers they want to hear more from in future lineups. Duggan says the response heavily favorites world affairs and United States politics.

The lecture series serves as fundraiser for the Verman Kimbrough Memorial Library at the Ringling College of Art and Design and for student scholarships.

Members of RCLA will access to tickets beginning in April.
