Phillippi Shores goes on parade with cast of characters

The kindergarten classes at Phillippi Shores were inspired by literature for halloween costumes.

Just before dismissal Thursday afternoon students at Phillippi Shores Elementary lined the outdoor hallways and courtyard for the annual Kindergarten Parade of Characters. 

The cast for the parade was comprised of all the kindergarten classes who were inspired to design costumes around their favorite literary characters. A procession of costumes ranging from minions to princesses made there way around the school clutching the books that feature their chosen characters. 

For Charlotte Weisenborn the decision was easy. She dressed as the character from the book series "Fancy Nancy," by Jane O'Connor. 

"She's my favorite storybook, I have lots of them," Weisenborn said. "This one is when she is going to a gala with her doll."

For the second year in a row the character Elsa from Disney's Frozen was a popular choice. Classmates Chloe Jane Light, Ella Cardell, Caroline Jackson and Gracie Grewal all dressed as the ice queen.
