Pines of Sarasota announced David Sylvester as the new CEO. In June former CEO John Overton stepped down from his position and retired after 14 years with Pines of Sarasota and 42 years in the industry.

Pines of Sarasota has been a providing local seniors with rehabilitation services, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

Prior to joining Pines of Sarasota Sylvester served as the Executive Director of West Orange Healthcare District. Sylvester began his career in health in 1986 and has served as a nursing home administrator in Jacksonville, Senior Vice President at Health Central and President of the Health Central Foundation. He has also served as president of the Florida Healthcare Association, a statewide trade group for owners and operators of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

"I am very excited for this next chapter as I get back to health care operations," said Sylvester in a statement. "I love working with a large team and providing safe and high-quality care for elders. Superior quality has always been my focus, my driving force. And with the current chaos in the healthcare industry, comes opportunity. I humbly accept this very important role and I am honored by the trust these leaders have placed in me as we move forward."
