Manatee County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the robbery of Moe’s Southwest Grill, located at 8192 Tourist Center Drive, off University Parkway.

A sheriff’s office report states a 6’2 suspect wearing either a gray tank top or black long sleeve shirt robbed the store at gunpoint, with a semi-automatic handgun, around 11:40 p.m. Monday. The suspect wore black gloves on his hands with black socks covering them. He also wore a black ski mask over his face.

It is believed the suspect fled in a dark-colored SUV of unknown make, model or year.

Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Dave Bristow said the sheriff’s office is trying to secure video of the incident.

“We don’t have any arrests yet,” he said. “We’re working some things early on in the investigation.”

Bristow said the sheriff’s office handled several armed robbery cases about four months ago, and those robberies occurred throughout the county.
