One hundred shooters loaded up for an afternoon of cigars, shotguns and competition

Aromas of cigars and steaming shotgun shells resting on damp grass greeted the 25 teams of gun enthusiasts who competed in the Manatee Chamber of Commerce's 2nd annual Sporting Clays Fun Shoot, April 24, at Ancient Oak Gun Club. The 50-clay competition was divide among eight courses, to which 100 shooters traveled in golf carts, shotguns held on their laps. Chamber members gave first-, second-, and third-place, and best female shooter and highest individual score plaques to winners at the end of the six-hour event. The shooting event has become one of the Chamber's biggest fundraisers.
