Tara Elementary students and their families donned leis and grass skirts Friday, as they enjoyed a family luau fundraising event. Guests hula hooped, enjoyed food and drink, watched performances by the Tara Dance Team and Beautiful Sei of Polynesia and enjoyed carnival-style games.
“I’ve got a lot of extra homework to give a lot of kids who aren’t even in my class,” teacher Chuck Rogalla said after being blasted with water balloons by cheering children as part of a fundraiser.
