Sept. 12
Phone problems

12:05 a.m. — 16900 block of State Road 70 East. Suspicious Circumstance. A father told police his teenage son was upset his phone wasn’t working and threw it on the ground when he discovered his father wouldn’t pay for a replacement.

Sept. 15
Shaky scheme backfires

6:52 p.m. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Theft. A woman working the register at a retail store allowed her son to enter the line with four items. The fourth item, a 55-inch flat screen high definition television, was conveniently not scanned and not paid for. The woman was fired and placed under arrest for grand theft.

Sept. 17
Alligator mystery

10:51 a.m. — 35600 block of State Road 62. Suspicious Circumstance. A man told police he observed a blood trail on a metal dock from the water to the top of an access embankment parking area. Police observed belly and claw marks and surmised that two alligators were killed and dragged to a vehicle. Police advised it’s alligator hunting season, but it’s illegal to hunt alligators on county-owned property.

Sept. 18
Check cashing breakdown

2:22 p.m. — 8400 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Forgery. A man attempted to cash a check for $398.02 at a check-cashing store but the check had multiple red flags. The man fled before police arrived.

Tree trouble
8:15 p.m. — 6100 block of 33rd Street East. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman reported her neighbor cut down four of her trees that evening, which were located on her front yard inside a fence. She said when she returned home, the remnants of the trees were in a trailer in her neighbor’s yard. She told police she was not on speaking terms with her neighbor and was provided with citizen dispute settlement paperwork.

Sept. 19
Double dipping

6600 block of 33rd Street East. Theft. A business owner discovered that an employee stole approximately $13,000 from his business by paying herself unauthorized overtime.

Sept. 20
A house divided

11:19 a.m. — 144400 block of Silver Trout Drive. Disturbance. A man told police that his ex-girlfriend was in the process of moving out and he was upset because it was taking her longer to move than he deemed was necessary. The man agreed to leave the house for a couple days to giver time to move without wasting more time arguing.

12:35 p.m. — 8900 block of Manor Loop. Disturbance. A man told police he’s been arguing with his girlfriend all morning because she was upset he stayed out most of the night and didn’t have the decency to call her.
