Lakewood principal announces retirement

Lakewood Ranch High School Principal Linda Nesselhauf today announced she will retire June 30. 

Nesselhauf has served as Lakewood's principal for six years.

"I walked into education quietly 38 years ago with my little box of classroom materials and I figured that's how I'd walk out," Nesselhauf said in a prepared statement. "I really have trouble seeing my retirement as a big deal. Lakewood Ranch High School is and will remain an awesome school thanks to its teachers, staff, parents, students and the entire community.

"I always want to do what's best for Lakewood Ranch and I'm sure the best is yet to come," she said.

Nesselhauf informed her staff of the decision at a meeting today.
