Jackson Galaxy, host of the Animal Planet show, "My Cat From Hell," visited Cat Depot Saturday, Sept. 14, to meet with staff and take a private tour of the facility. He offered employees tips on how to further increase Cat Depot's impact on Sarasota before heading to an appearance at the Hyatt Regency, during which, he spoke to a sold-out audience and signed copes of his memoir, "Cat Daddy: What the World's Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life."

Proceeds from the event benefited Cat Depot's Friends Like Me program, which helps sick, injured and special-needs cats.

At Cat Depot, Galaxy spoke about his experience in the shelter world, his hopes for a no-kill reality and his experience on his television show.

"By and large," he said. "People don't know what makes cats tick. My goal is to teach people that. If you know, you'll be just as fascinated as I am."
