Sarasota Police investigate Newtown shooting

A man approached 26-year-old Markus Jackson on his porch at roughly 2 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, and shot him twice, according to a Sarasota Police Department incident report.

Emergency workers transported the victim to the hospital via Bayflite and police canvassed the area near the 1700 block of Gregg court with K-9 units without results. Jackson told officers the suspect wore all black and fled northbound.
