Golf group raises $5,000 for charity

Members of the Tara Golf & Country Club's Nine Hole Golf Group swung big to fight cancer during this year's "Tee Up To Fight Breast Cancer" event held Feb. 16, at the Tara Golf & Country Club.

"We had a wonderful day starting with a continental breakfast, nine holes of golf and a luncheon with door prizes," event co-organizer Lynne Garbrick said.

The event raised about $5,000 to be shared between the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
