Fatal accident on I-75

Florida Highway Patrol report a fatal accident this morning around 3:00 a.m. on Interstate 75, just north of University Parkway.

Curt Lux, 60, was driving southbound on Interstate 75 in the right lane approaching University Parkway. Rebecca Brown, 36, was standing on the edge of the southbound lane. Brown's BMW had previously spun off the roadway onto the shoulder and was stuck in the ditch just west of where Brown was standing. Lux's vehicle collided into Brown, causing her to be thrown onto the grassy shoulder. Brown died at the scene of the accident.

Alcohol was not involved in the accident.
