The Sarasota Police Department has closed Mound Street after a bicyclist that was injured by a vehicle this morning had to be airlifted to an area trauma center for severe injuries.
Police closed the road to investigate the accident. Southbound Mound Street will be closed between Orange Avenue and U.S. 41 until further notice for this investigation. All southbound traffic will be redirected on Orange Avenue.
