Manatee approves $462.4 million budget

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners on Thursday night approved a $462.4 million budget — a number $22 million less than last year's budget figure.

The budget includes no tax increase.

Manatee County Sheriff's Office will be granted $800,000 to hire 10 new positions — a compromise from the 20 positions Sheriff Brad Steube originally had requested. Monies will come from tax revenue from revised property appraisals.
