+ Mote caviar is on the menu at 16 Florida Whole Foods locations
Mote has joined forces with gourmet food distributor Marky’s to distribute its Siberian caviar to 16 Florida Whole Foods Market locations.

“When we first heard of this fabulous caviar being produced right here in Florida, we knew immediately that we had to carry it in our stores,” says Joey Wells, regional specialty coordinator for Whole Foods Market Florida region.

The caviar is produced in eastern Sarasota County under Mote Aquaculture Park’s mission to develop sustainable fish farming technologies to take pressure off of wild fish stocks and increase food security in the U.S. This mission coincides with Whole Foods Market’s farmed seafood standards.

“Our missions intertwine nicely — we’re just a perfect fit,” says Jim Michaels, manager of Mote’s Siberian sturgeon program.

The caviar is $55 per ounce and will be available year-round. Proceeds from the product sales support all of Mote’s research and development efforts.
